NOUN characters are created using questions and voices from students!
Inspired by the creativity of elementary school kids and educators, led former by execs from Time Warner, HBO, AOL, and BBC Children's, NOUN is on a mission to create learning adventures and news for young minds.
Picture this: students leading interviews with cool companies and experts, all in snappy 30-minute sessions! Then, animated elements of the interviews are shared online, in newsletters and other media, enabling access to the learning fun far and wide.
At NOUN we're about backing up educators in their quest to shape young minds with skills in reading, writing, and STEAM subjects.
how noun works
Elementary school students are empowered with unique opportunities to engage in online video interviews with subject-matter experts and innovative companies, opening doors to experiences otherwise beyond their reach. This connection between worlds sparks inspiration and learning for all involved, as students glean insights from experts while reminding them of the limitless creativity and ingenuity of youth.
Encouraged by these interactions, students are prompted to unleash their imagination through post-interview curriculum activities, culminating in the creation of interview videos where characters are brought to life through the voices of the students. This shared greatness is then showcased to the world, all while preserving the anonymity of the students involved.

Dave • Chief Envisionary Officer - a media exec and entrepreneur, Dave has led new business initiatives for several media companies including HBO, Time Warner, AOL and Comedy Central.
Mario • Programming - a former commissioner with BBC's Children’s, Mario has worked on award winning brands including Horrible Histories, Bing, Pablo as well as gaming and digital short-form.
Justin • Learning - a writer, educator and information specialist, Justin brings years of media and education experience to the team. His work with schools guides noun's educator engagement strategy.
Paul • Technology - with years of experience developing and executing internet strategies for startups and enterprise businesses, Paul is a passionate entrepreneur and advisor who helps organizations leverage data to optimize their business.
Marc • Business Development - an experienced sales and marketing professional, Marc brings his skill-set in customer service and strategy to our educational mission.
Heidi • Operations - an experienced event and logistics manager, Heidi thrives on moving projects forward and client relations.
